iPod Touch: A Great Purchase

As a nerd, I remember waiting in anticipation before the scheduled apple press conference, hoping they would announce the iPod Touch. I purchased mine as soon as they went on sale, and I don't regret the purchase. It is expensive (I bought the 16GB model at $399, but there is an 8GB one at $299), but I think it is well worth the money. The revolutionary touch screen interface is amazing. The “coverflow” of album artwork is a great addition to the navigation features, and the picture functions are amazing. In addition, the widescreen is perfect for watching movies and videos. The internet is a nice addition, and its functionality is great, but the onscreen keyboard is a bit too small to be incredibly useful. The cost is high for only 16 GB compared to the 160GB classic iPod that Apple offers for $50 cheaper, but the Touch uses flash memory instead of the Hard Drive in the iPod Classic, which makes it smaller and more durable. This is my second iPod, my first was a 30GB iPod Video (now called classic) and I much prefer this to my old model. There are also added bonus points for new technology, so it is good for showing off to friends. All in all, this is a good purchase, if you are willing to shell out the money.
