Epinions The best Mac desktop yet!

by  thecomputerguy,  Aug 2, 2005
Pros: Beautiful 17-inch widescreen LCD, fast CPU, great graphics, huge hard drive, slim!
Cons: Can't upgrade video card just like any other all-in-one computer (PC or Mac)
The Bottom Line: The best personal computer you can own. The iMac G5 gives you all the power of the Macintosh and none of the problems of Windows.
Review: The iMac G5 is a wonderful computer, marketed toward consumers looking to dip into the digital lifestyle to make their own media creations and to share them on CD and DVD. This is an all-in-one computer including a LCD monitor and built in speakers with ...

Pros: compact, multimedia editing, looks, iTunes
Cons: no hardware upgrades
The Bottom Line: If you want music, video, and DVD editing--buy it!!
Review: I bought an iMac. For years I thought I would never own an Apple, but after looking for something to edit photos and videos on, there just seemed no better option. I have had no trouble to this point (five months of use) with any major operations. ...

Pros: Design, Storage, iLife, OSX.

Epinions Apple iMac G5 Mac Desktop

by  quantumfog,  Sep 27, 2005
Pros: Compact hardware with a small footprint, large screen, does not crash.
Cons: Cost; I'd like to see it for about $500 less.
Review: Early iMac G5 models were fraught with overheating, causing the computers to crash. However, iMacs built after June 2005 have these problems resolved. Check with the MacIntouch site for serial numbers if you need to buy a used model. I bought a 20 ...

Epinions My Mac "Experience" So Far

by  clarkie_in_ct,  Oct 16, 2005
Pros: Simplicity
Cons: Pricey
The Bottom Line: If you're a home user. Email, word processing, internet, photos, video, music. Add simplicity to your life
Review: Update: Now that I've had more time to use this device, I'm even more impressed. I'll also talk about features available on the new iMac The first point I'd like to make is this. Why would I, an IT professional, of the "PC" generation buy a Mac? ...

Epinions O.K. I bought a MAC

by  shawnshell,  Oct 4, 2005
Pros: Easy to set up, easy to operate, good mix of "out of the box" software
Cons: Software update intrusive, crashes with Garage Band, Safari and Quicken
Review: I've always been a PC/Windows guy. The MAC has always been a computer for artists and students. No serious business could actually be conducted on it. This impression was further compounded when I joined a big PC computer manufacturer about three ...

Epinions Apple G5 iMac major repair requirements

by  pixelpaint,  Nov 6, 2005
Pros: Beautiful design and optimal function for the price
Cons: Defective internal parts that Apple is VERY sluggish in correcting
Review: Having been a loyal Mac owner for over 10 years, I thought I had no reason to be wary of my Dec.04 iMac purchase. However, I have one of the unfortunate serial numbers that has a defective on-off switch; Apple has extended their warranty to 2 years to ...

Epinions G5 Could Be Better

by  toemas8,  Oct 12, 2005
Pros: its white, probably good for editing home movies.
Cons: its has all the apple related problems. seems unstable the screen is rubbish.
The Bottom Line: If you are a PC user or business and thinking of getting G5... don't. The screen is just too average and there are the usual apple problems.
Review: As a PC user and one who is forced to work on one of these things i may be a bit biased. We just got a new G5 in our office and along with the usual apple/ driver problems of not being able to work with some of our printers. The our G5 seems to crash ...
