Epinions KitchenAid Quality all the way! It works and works well.

by  dakotadoc,  Jun 13, 2006
Pros: 16 grind settings, large one pound bean hopper, quality to last a lifetime!
Cons: I can't seem to think of any.
The Bottom Line: If you are a coffee connoisseur, the coffee maker is only half of the equation. You need to own a burr type mill.
Review: I bought my KitchenAid Classic Series Electric Burr Grinder about 5 years ago and I am completely satisfied with it. Mine is the Cobalt Blue colored Model KCG200BU. It's basically the same design that KitchenAid produced in 1938 with a few slight ...

Epinions Great Style and function

by  virgs,  Sep 11, 2005
Pros: Great styling, robust functionality, simple operation, and built for heavy duty use.
Cons: Top lid would not tighten, but easily fixed.
Review: I purchased this machine at Foley's a year ago. I chose white because the color fits with any kitchen decor and it matches my other white appliances. After a year of use, I've found this machine to grind coffee fast and reliably. It's one pound capacity ...

Epinions Totally Satisfied

by  johnyf1,  Jan 9, 2006
Pros: Styling, small foot print, consistent grind, heavy duty.
Cons: Little messy if bumped. Small amount of grounds spill from spout.
Review: Large bin for bean storage. The bin holds approximately a bag and half of beans which allows you to fill it before it runs out. Gives a consistent grind which provides coffee with a much better flavor than already ground or coffee ground with a blade ...

Epinions Beautiful grinder for 9 months....

by  treeliner41,  Sep 28, 2005
Pros: Good warranty service. Strong motor and beautiful looks..
Cons: Useless brush and glass receptacle...
Review: I bought the A-9 from ABT Electronics online..... The grinder worked everyday for 9 months flawlessly, then one day I cranked it up, the motor worked but no coffee was being ground.....I'm kind of a Mr. Fixit but it looked like special tools were ...

Epinions Revisiting this old workhorse.

by  indintruk,  Mar 7, 2008
Pros: Attractive, heavy duty motor, airtight bean container.
Cons: Temperamental, cannot grind oily beans, spotty build quality.
The Bottom Line: If, and that's a big IF, you can get it for well under a hundred bucks brand new, and you can put up with its tempramental nature, buy it.
Review: Some time ago I wrote a review on this grinder. Resultant comments from previous owners became heated to the point that I got the feeling some people were treating my review as a springboard for a discussion forum on the grinder. Needless to say, I ...

Epinions Nice look and feel. Poor design. Great Customer Service.

by  kanebr,  Nov 8, 2006
Pros: Nice look. Grinds OK. Great Warranty.
Cons: Poor design. Messy. Likely to need the great warranty.
Review: My first burr coffee grinder. I was really excited about the retro look/design. Very disappointed in the performance, and durability. Very messy to grind, until the chute fills with grounds, coffee flies everywhere. Every time you bump it coffee falls ...

Epinions NOT for espresso grind

by  tosder,  Feb 5, 2007
Pros: Looks, bean storage capacity
Cons: coarse uneven grind -- even on finest setting, messy
Review: I heartily agree with those who've said this machine is no good for espresso grind. It grinds the beans far too coarsely and unevenly. It's a real shame because it's funky and classy addition to the countertop and it holds a pound of beans very ...

Epinions Good looks, mediocre performance

by  dangerpenguin,  Oct 20, 2005
Pros: Good looks, big bean hopper
Cons: Difficult to adjust grind setting, messy
Review: We've had this grinder for 8 months and it works pretty well, but switching grind settings is a headache every single time. The burrs seem to get stuck so that we often have to empty the hopper in order to move the collar around properly. Another ...

Epinions High-Maintenance Grinder with All the Noise

by  lookingforwd,  Mar 5, 2008
Pros: Exceptionally good looking
Cons: Noisy, clogs, messy, burns coffee & daily cleaning required
The Bottom Line: To achieve the look, you must forgive Kitchen Aid their negligence in design; and be fully prepared to maintain this device, every day.
Review: Kitchen Aid makes attractive-looking products with antique looks that recall a different era. Regrettably, they have not only retained the look, they've also retained antediluvian functionality and effectiveness. Things weren't necessarily better, way ...
