Super game!

The New Super Mario Bros. game has some radical new features that IMO make it the best Mario Bros. game ever. The first thing you notice as you take off running in World 1-1 is the graphics. The graphics slam into your eyes with a splash of crisp, clear and colorful goodness that it'll shock almost any Mario Bros. fan.

Mario looks sharp and so do his enemies. Of course it must be stated that on the DS Lite, the game is especially delicious. But having tried it on both I can say you won't be disappointed either way. The Controls are precise and tight, you can even change the control layout if it tickles you. The sound is spiced up and has a familiar, yet updated tune. All of the regulars are back in the New Mario Bros. game. The storyline itself isn't epic; as usual, Princess Peach is abducted and you must save her. This time it's Bowser Jr. who is the sneakster. The Goombas are still little brown Lemmings and the Koopa Troopas are still walking turtles, etc.

Some new additions include Blue Koopa Troopas which, when stepped upon, produce one of the few new power ups "Shell Mario." There are three new power-ups in addition to regular Mario, Super Mario, and Fire Mario. Shell Mario lets Mario perform a shell dash that will knock the pants off his foes! Well, not literally, but imagine an invincible slide attack. One of the first new power-ups you will experience actually is the most powerful power-up ever. Mega Mario turns Mario into a huge skyscraper which can trample and smash through just about anything. He can still fall, of course, but don't worry, after the Mega Mushroom wears off he can collect up to 5 1-ups.

Mini Mario will turn Mario into a teeny weenie shrunken kid. This may seem like a disadvantage at first, but he's actually got a few tricks up his sleeve in this form. Mini Mario is so light he can perform floating jumps and even walk on water! He can also go into special tiny areas and pipes. With eight worlds to explore this will keep the most seasoned of players busy for at least 3 hours. Not a lot of time you think? Well, don't worry, The New Mario Bros. has mini games which will entertain you for an eternity. And of course, the best little secret of this game is the multiplayer feature which lets you connect to another DS. I promise you the rivalry and fun you will share will make even the most prudish of sorts giggle uncontrollably.
