The EZ Cards include a Boot ROM socket for diskless PCI systems. This Boot ROM option enables a diskless workstation to discover its own IP address, the IP address of a server on the network, and a file to be loaded into memory to boot the PC. That's why no hard or floppy disk drive is required to boot the workstation.
