This card supports the decryption of data that has been encrypted using the AES Rijndael encryption algorithm. With the Lexmark PrintCryption Card and using host encryption with subsequent decryption in the printer, proprietary or confidential information is secured and protected when transmitted over a TCP/IP network. The Lexmark PrintCryption Card enables printing of files that have been encrypted using the Rijndael encryption algorithm selected by the National Institute of Science and Technology as the Advanced Encryption Standard. This is a symmetric algorithm supporting key lengths of 128, 192, and 256 bits. The Lexmark PrintCryption Card analyzes the encrypted data stream, determines if the correct key was used to encrypt the data, decrypts the data and allows the data to be printed. If an incorrect key was used to encrypt the data, all data is discarded, host software such as VPS/Secure is notified and nothing is printed. Minimize
