On the lower speed (green) settings noise levels are quiet - not so on the extremely fast high speed (red settings). This machine will crush frozen fruit on low settings - although large loads remain initially uncrushed in small patches largely because of the narrow base of the glass jar and blade configuration. Generally no leaks and the lid allows extra liquid to be added whilst blending (although the hole rarely allows occassional volcano like spray to hit the walls in tiny spatters). Minimize
