Pentax Papilio 8.5x21 close focus binoculars, excellent but not perfect

Pros: No eyestrain close focusing to 1.5 ft - unique. Excellent optics, quality and price.

Cons: Ease of use in the field could be improved.

The Bottom Line: highly recommended

Review: This is a supplement to Allan Ostling's epinions review which covers them pretty well and in my view accurately. He has two reviews which are more or less identical and probably he is reviewing the lower power 6.5x binocs. I opted for the higher power ...

Into the New Papilio Paradise

Pros: These binoculars have no competition, at any price.

Cons: They are now in short supply.

The Bottom Line: Buy the 6.5x21 Papilios as soon as you can.
